With a decade of theatre experience and involvement in around 20 productions, Shatarupa, who has worked as an actor, director, and production manager, shares insights on her creative process, the learning curve in theatre, and contemporary relationships. She views theatre as a platform to engage with issues both intellectually and emotionally. Theatre has enabled her to navigate relationships in a unique way, bringing abstract ideas to life and providing a cathartic outlet for exploring complex emotions. Through writing, staging, and experiencing Silvatein, Shatarupa found closure and initiated meaningful conversations beyond surface-level discussions. She highlights the challenges of maintaining emotional connections in today's fast-paced world, where technology and instant gratification often hinder deeper relational investments.Finding the energy to work through challenges can be tough, leading many to simply walk away. Our fast-paced lives often leave little time for deep emotional connections, making relationships a lower priority. Playwright Shatarupa drew inspiration from her own experiences with failed relationships, highlighting the importance of self-awareness and honest communication. Shatarupa realized that self-understanding is key for personal well-being and building healthy relationships, emphasizing that unhealthy relationships are rooted in power dynamics. By acknowledging the influence of past experiences on her reactions, Shatarupa learned to approach relationships with patience and empathy, embracing vulnerability as an opportunity for growth and learning from mistakes.
